St. Amy, by St.Leger—Hazel, is now being given a bit of work by George Wright in view ot: A.It.G. autumn engagements.

Coronet, who won the. Newmarket Handicap in 18S5, died recently at Mr John Little's stud, Sandford ' (Victoria).

The final payment for the Newmarket Handicap falls clue on Feb. 26 (the Monday before the race), and for the Australian Cup on March 1 (the Thursday before the race).
The necessary totallsator permit having been obtained, the Thames Jockey Club will hold an autumn meeting- on March 5.
The Dunedin Cup winner, Casket, has been put into training again. He is now owned and trained by Mr Geo. Ruthven, of Mosgiel.
A serious accident recently happened to Sir Geo. Clifford's two-year-old Canine Chiel. The colt reared up as he was being mounted and landed on top of a fence near the sheds, giving himself a, few nasty cuts and scratches.
Major George's colt The Labourer is going on nicely at Ellerslie under the watchful eye of P. J. Macmanemin.
The pony Bob changed hands at tho Te Aroha meeting, Mr F. P>. Ross being his new owner. He was sent on to Helensville during the week.
The stallion Cyrenian is being treated to half-pace work at Ellerslie. Mr W. R. Wilson lias accepted for Bobadil in both the Newmarket Handicap and Australian Cup despite his big imposts. Many Victorians declare he. is one of the fastest, if not the fastest, horse Australia has seen, and it is pointed out as proof that as a two-year-old, at Randwick. he carried 9.6 and ran six furlongs in 1.13 i Bobadil has 9.13 in the sprint race, and he has to gi're a stone to Merriwee and Seahorse in the Australian Cup.
