CAPETOWN, February C. General French by persistent shelling with Lyddite drove the Boers from a strong position which they held between Slingersfontein and Colesberg. CAPETOWN, February 5. '■ General French has despatched an overwhelming force to seize Norval's Point, on the Orange River, and thus cut off the retreat of the 7000 B»rs that his forces enclose in the hills round Colesberg. Reinforcements are rapidly supporting the movement. A body of cavalry and New Zealand ers cleared the-way^-for^tie-advance to JJbrval's Point.
