WELLINGTON, this day.
Wind: Moderate and generally from Southward north of Napier and New Plymouth; strong from northward thence south to Port Chalmers and Queenstown; strong from north to west and south-west elsewhere. Barometer: Further rise north of Thames and Manukau, rise thence southward to Napier and New Plymouth, fall at all other places. Sea: Considerable on the West Coast south of New Plymouth, and on the East Coast south of Castlepoint. Tides: High on all Western Coast, and on East Coast south of Napier, moderate elsewhere. Rain is to be expected in the South Is- * Synopsis of the last 24 hours: Northward of Thames and Manukau pressure iias increased a little, but has decreased jslowlv everywhere else. Rain has fallen locally from East Cape and Manukau northwards, also south oi Queenstown and Dunedin. v Law pressure from the west will pass /eastward of the meridian of South Cape ton the Sth inst.
