I The monthly meeting of the conij iTiittw of the Auckland' Racing- Club j was held yesterday a.fteriiioon. A sum jof fifty guineas was voted to the local i Third Cowtingemt Fund. and live guineas to the Father Walter McDonald grave-stone fund. It was resolved to send a copy of Messrs Wewtherly's j letter in reference to the disputed I Blueeap—Halbadier start to the chair--1 man of the Racing Conference. The following programmes were passed: . Papakura Hack Meeting, March 3; : Lake Takapuna. R.C.: Thames Valley J.C. Annual, April 16; YVhakatane R.C., March 17; Avondale U.C. Autumn. May 2 ami 5; Waihj Racing Club, Mare-h 3. Locals
.As Mr S. Tooman has definitely decided to retire from racing, the whole of hi.s well known horses will be offered for sale by auction on Saturday week at Green lane by Mr Arthur Tooman. The horses will no doubt command a fair amount of competition, as it is not every day that such an opportunity is offered of securing prize winners. Little Wonder is too well known to require comment. The mare Bavaria has the reputation of being one of the fastest in the colony at the present time, and the stallion Pipiwhararoa is also favourably known; and Reporter, by Camera, should command attention, as during his career few could clear a fence like him. A three year old full sisier to Favona (still unbroken) will also be submitted to auction.
