UTILISING TIDE POWER.
The tides are now utilised for generating power at Pont l'Abbe, Finisterre, France, during 14 'hours a clay. At flood tide the water flows through a canal two and a-half miles inland into a pond in the rear of the power house, and returns to the sea at ebb tide. The total fall is U feet, and 80 horss power is generated by turbines.
