DISCORD IN THE BOER RANKS.

MODDER RlVEit, December 13.— Reuters Special Service. —The Scandinavian wounded complain most bitterly of the treatment received at the hands of the Boers, who, although they were aware of the picket having been destroyed, never sent ambulances or doctors, but left them lying for thirty hours enduring the bitterly cold night.

Our own ambulance having been taken away proves the loss of the Boers to have been very heavy. Confirmatory reports of a reliable nature prove the Boers to have suffered a terrible loss. The exact estimates vary, but the lowest given is 800, while yesterday the lowest was 500.

A long line of waggons was seen trekking towards Jacobsdal. The Free Staters are heartily sick of the war. After the battle of Modder River, nearly the whole of the commando fled helter-skelter towards Jacobsdal.

The Transvaal burghers retired from the position of Monday's fight, but a large party of them proceeded to Jacobsdal, and reproached the T?ree Staters for clearing. High words followed; the men seized their rifles, and a fight seemed imminent, but General Cronje appeared on the scene, and succeeded in calming them.
