WELLINGTON, this day.
Writing- to the Premier, Major Robin confirms the statement as to the stripping of tiniforms of brass buttons and officers carrying carbines, everything bright behig- painted khaki, and haversacks dyed brown. Although there is sickness among the horses, still they had 230 available. Other corps lost more heavily. They had some ti'ouble with the saddles, and the boots were not good.
