N.Z. INANIMATE PIGEON ASSOCIATION.
. ♦ .— The opening meeting- of the above Association took place at the Northern Gun Club's grounds, Epsom, on Saturday, and was a great success, the weather being all that, could be desired. A large number of visitors were present. Shooting commenced at 10 a.m. with a 20-bird handicap, which, after a very exciting- contest, was won by Mr J. Strathern (Eden Club) Ist, Mr R. Claud (Onehunga Club) 2nd. After lunch the amberite cup (presented by T. and S. Morrin, Limited) was shot for by teams of six men from the | clubs affiliated to the Association, and | was won by the Eden Gun Club, represented by Messrs J. Nutt, J. Johnston, J. Strathern, S. E. Severne, P. Hubery, and J. Parry, with a. total of S8 noints, the second team being the Northern Gun Club, represented by Dr. Lewis (president, Dr. Owen, Dr. Hood, Major Morrow, Messrs 11. 0. , Whitney and C. ¥\ Bell, with 78 points; 3rd, Onehunga Gun Club, represented by Messrs R. Claud, J. C. i Oldbury, V. Frost ,W. Suttie, H. ' Schmiedel, and R. S. Martin, 72 points. Mr B. Grayson and C. Suttie acted as referees during the day and gave . general satisfaction. " |
