Vaile and Sons' auction rooms to-day a number of- city properties belonging to Mr Farmer were offered for sale by auctiom The property at the corner of Queen and Wel-les-ley streets, occupied by Messrs Cruiekshahk, Miller and Co.;-subject to a Tease expiring February 28, 1903, was sold for £5,450. The property in Wellesley street, adjoining, occupied by Messrs Skeates Bros., subject to a lease expiring September, 1901, brought £1450. Lot S, occupied by Mr E. V. Miller, brought £1000; and lot 9, High street, occupied by Messrs E. Porter and. Co., .subject to lease expiring 2680 A.D., at £75 per annum, •.nett,;Joi v'£lsoo.' The other properties offered- were-withdraAVn, at' the" reserves, and are now tinder private treaty. There was a croAvded attendance,' and the bidding was brisk.
