AUCKLAND.

Mr Robert- French addressed the City electors in St. George's Hall last night. The hall was well filled. Mr. J. W. Shackelford (Mayor of Grey Lynn) presided. Mr French spoke for one hour and a-quarter, and was accorded a good hearing. At. the close, on the motion of Mr E. Hare, seconded by Mr Hansen, the speaker was accorded a vote of thanks. EDEN. Mr M. Niccol addressed the Eden electors at Zion Hill Schoolroom last night. Mr C. E. Button (Mayor of Birkenhead) occupied the chair. At the close a vote of thanks and confidence in the speaker and the Government was carried amidst applause. MANUKAU. Mr F. jW. Buckland addressed a large meeting of electors in the Panmure Hall last night, Mr H. Pilkington in the chair. A vote of thanks and confidence and a counter motion were proposed, and the former was declared carried. Mr Francis Hull addressed a large audience at Tamaki West last night, 180 being present. Mr Harris occupied the chair. Mr Hull spoke for over an hour and aJhalf, and answered a large number of questions. Mr Jas. Goodfellow proposed a vote of thanks and confidence; this was seconded by Mr Bryant and, no amendment being proposed, was carried by acclamation. WAITEMATA. Mr Richard Monk, M.H.R., candidate for the Waitemata seat, addressed the electors of Whakapirau on Saturday, ISth November, in the Pahi No. 2 Schoolroom. Mr Arthur Colbeck acted as chairman. There was about forty people present, including a few ladies. Mr Monk spoke for close on three hours. At the termination of the address Mr Avery* proposed and Mr Paige seconded a vote of confidence, but Mr Jackman proposed and Mr Gill seconded a very hearty vote of thanks. The amendment was earned by nine votes to three.-—(Own Correspondent.) In spite of wind and weather. Mr Ford addressed a good house at Te Arai on Thursday night. Mr Farrand, jun., in the chair. Mr Ford dwelt at some length on the Bills passed during the last session, and carried his audience with him. Mr Ford appears to be making .great headway throughout the constituency.—(Own Correspondent.) Mr Newman addressed good meetings at Mangawai and Hakaru on Monday and Tuesday, and was well received. At the close of his meetings unanimous votes of thanks and confidence were passed. BAY OF PLENTY. Mr Lundon bad a meeting at Waihou on tho 21st. Seventy were present, including ladies. Mr Lovegrove was in the chair. A vote of thanks and confidence was earned unanimously.

PAEROA, this day.

Mr J. M. Shera addressed the electors in the Criterion Theatre last evening*. There was a large attendance. Mr W. Sullivan was in the chair. At the close of the address, in which the candidate strongly supported the Government policy, questions were asked, and Mr Colclough, another candidate, asked if Mr Shera was aware the Hon. Mr Cadman had distinctly stated at a meeting of tlhe Liberal Federation that the Government support would be given to Mr Jackson Palmer, and that he (Mr Colclough) had retired in disgust. Mr Shera became very excited, saying it could not be true, but if it were so he (Mr Shera) would rake up the past and would expose some previous promise of the Liberal party.
