THE AOMA.
The 30 foot yacht Aoma, built _by Messrs Logan Bros., of tills city, and sent to Sydney a month ago, won a general handicap on 11th inst. The Australian "Star" has the following:—
The Prince Alfred Yacht Club opened the season with a race, under best-and-best conditions, over the Manly and Shark Island course. Considerable interest was centred in the event, which resulted as follows:
Aoma (C. T. Brockhoff), 22m, £7 7/ 1 Defender (R. H. Pearse), 12m, £3 3/.... 2 Sapphire (H. A. Jones), 24m, £11/ 3
Other starters: White Wings (S. Hordern), scratch; Isea (W. M. Marks), 12m. At the outset Isea had the misfortune to carry away, her bobstay. Mr Brockoff's craft had snr 43s in hand from the Defender, which defeated Sapphire by lm 7s. Tb«. latter was only 22. «.,*a __■ - . <sea-,
