Messrs Thomas Coo.k and Son have just issued for distribution a third edition of their handy little volume entitled "New Zealand as a Tourist and Health Resort." The book, which contains all told about 160 pages, has been most carefully compiled, and forms a concise guide to 'the- scenic attractions of the colony. Further it is nicely illustrated with half-tone engravings and maps of the 'thermal centres, while it includes interesting articles on "Shooting- and Fishing," "Geysers: Ther Cause and Action," "Thermal Spas of New Zealand," and "Hints re Travel in New Zealand." It is one of the first books set by the linotype in this colony, and the clearness of its printing- and admirable character of the genera 1 get up are a credit to the "Star" and "Craphic" office, where it was published. As Messrs Cook and Son will place it in the various branches of their world-Avide business, and as a great many thousands of copies will be circulated, it Avill do a considerable amount of good in advertising New Zealand's tourist attractions. The issue, of such an admirable handbook affords another example of the enterprise of this firm, Avhose reputation is Avorld-Avide, and avlio have done more to promote the comfort of travellers than any other agency in existence.
