The Victorian ring had a bad tame over the double win of Merriwee. Cocos has broken clown. His record is 27 starts for five wins. Explosion and Rosella remain at Wellington to fulfil engagements there next week. The Coromandel Racing Club hold their spring meetiug on Wednesday and Thursday next. Acceptances for first day's events fall due to-night. The last four furlongs of the A.R.C. Ascot Handicap, won by Record Reign, were run in 55 sees. It is stated that the Hon. J. D. Ormond will be represented with a team at the A.R.C. Summer Meeting. Merriwee is described as an undersized colt. He had a clear run throughout in the Melbourne C\ip. Seahorse and The Labourer' returned from Christchurch to Hastings this week. The pair I hear are to remain in the care of Percy Martin. Mr. S.. C. Caulton has determined to give up racing. All his racehorses and mares are to be submitted to auction.

It is stated on what appears to be good authority that the new owner of Cranberry is Sir Edward Vincent, who also bought the New Zealand horse Multiform.
Several members of the Sydney ring state that Merriwee's double, win iv the V.R.C. Derby and Melbourne Cup will be the means of transferring from the pockets of bettors in. New South Wales to the pockets of those in Victoria from £15,000 to £20,000.
Lord William Beresford owns the crack two-year-old of the English season in Democrat, who promises to take a prominent part in next year's "classics."
