DATE OF THE POLL.
To-day Mr Holland received a tele* gram from an authoritative source stating that the general election vfin take place on Wednesday, December 6.
Our Wellington correspondent wirecj to-day:—"l have good authority'; for stating that' Ministers have not finally decided the date of the general elections, but the writs will probably be issued on Monday, the poll taking place between the 6th and eighth of December.
Mr G. Fowlds will deliver an address in St. Benedicts' Hall to-night. Mr Napier speaks in Sowerby's Hall to-night.
Mr H. J. Greenslade announces him, self a candidate for the Thames.
Mr J. Bollard gives an address ia St. Albans' schoolroom, Mount Roskill, to-night. •.'■'"
. Mr Finlay .Wilson has decided |o contest the Franklin seat at the gen!nil election as a Liberal candidate against the sitting member. Mr Massey.
