INVERCAEGILL, Wednesday,
Jules TCthcnoe Bonvy, aged 52, was removed from the s.s. Mokoia at the Blnfl- to-day, and will be sent to Wellington for extradition. He was sentenced to*.ten years'; .transportation for theft with violence, committed in France, and Avas to reside perpetually thereafter in New Caledonia. He admits he is the man wanted.
A peculiar case was heard before the S.M. to-day, the Wallace Hospital trust siiiing' Jessie Muir, of Bdendale, for £29, being the cost of maintaining her husband in the hospital, where he died.! Defendant's counsel inter alia contended that there,was no proof that' the dead man was Mrs Muir's husband, and the trust had not apprised her of his death so that she could have identified him. Neither had she been told that the man was in the hospital, although he had been there 79 weeks. She got a separation order 23 years ago, and her husband left her to bring up nine children. After legal argument on several points His Worship reserved his decision. ' WELLINGTON, this day. The Wellington Acclimatisation Society has decided to cable to the Agent-General with a view to securing the services of an English curator for I the Masterton fish ponds.
