ELECTION NOTES.
Mr VV. »T. Napier, who is a candidate for Parliament, will address the Auckland electors at St. James' Hall, Wellington street, at eight o'clock this evening.
The Ponsonby Hall not being available Mr BaumeV address there will be postponed. Mr Baume will deliver his first address in the Foresters' Hall, "Newton, on Tuesday next.
A meeting of Mr George Fowlds' •sub-committee, Karangahape Ward, was held on Wednesday evening in St. George's Hall, and was well attended. Mr F. M. King presided. . The Chairman explained Mr Fowlds'' plan of campaign, after which Mr Fowlds addressed the meeting at some length, giving his views of Federation and other political topics of the day.
Mr Francis Hull, sharebroker, announces himself as a candidate to represent the Manukau electorate in the next Parliament.
A meeting of the Parnell Electoral League was held last night in St. Barnabas' Hall, Mt. Eden. Mr A. W. Thomson presided. The. meeting agreed to support an Opposition canclidate, and resolutions were passed favouring Mr Hugh Campbell's candidature.
LIBERAL FEDERATION FORMED
PAEROA, this day
A meeting was held here last night to consider the advisability of forming a branch of the Liberal Federation. There was a fair number present, and Mr Nathan occupied the chair. Messrs Long, Drumm, "Motion, and Ross, officers of the Waihi Branch, attended, and explained the objects and benefits of such an Association. On the motion of Mr Forrest seconded by Mr T. Shaw, the meeting decided to form a branch in ■paeroa. The names of intending members were then received, and the following provisional officers were elected: Chairman, Mr Nathan: secretary, Mr Lake; treasurer, Mr T. Shaw; committee, members present lit the met?ting.
