PAPAKURA NOTES
On Thursday, September 21, Miss Helen J. Walter, who had resigned her position as assistant teacher prior to her marriage, was the recipient of a valuable marble time piece, with the following inscription: "President by the present and past pupils of the Papakui- School." She also received a handsome book entitled "Beautiful Britain," from the members of the School Committee, as a mark of their high appreciation of her faithful work done in the school. The presentation was made at the school by the Rev. T. Norrie, Chairman of CommUt.e. The Rev. 0. R. Hewlett returned thanks on her behalf.
The Drury Band of Hope held their monthly entertainment on Wednesday, the Rev. T. Norrie occupied the chair, and gare an address and -t rending. The other items were supplied by Mrs Rosser and Misses Eva and N. '"'a Carrie Cossey, Ballard, Ruby TtttM and Masters Alex. Thomson and WjJliC'ossey. and Messrs Fielding, L. and J. Ballard and Whitburn. .—.
