NORTH WARD ELECTIONS.
(To the Editor.)
Sir,—_our, correspondent '-North Ward Ratepayer" is either wilfully misleading the ratepayers or has been misled himself. No one has presented a requisition to me to address the electors. If such a thing has been got up it must be by my opponents' supporters, as I have not been approached by anyone on the subject, and this is evidently done for a purpose. When my committee first met the matter of a public address was discussed, and the committee decided that ft would be useless, as so few attended the public meetings held, aud my views were so well known with regard to city improvements, such a sgood drainage, a good water scheme, and ccouomy in all departments. Those who know me know full well that I never shrink from doing what I consider my duty, aud if the ratepayers had wished for it I would have willingly given them a public address.—l am, etc., J. H. HANNAN.
