ELECTION NOTES.
EDEN
An adjourned meeting of the Liberal Committee recently elected to represent Northcote, Birkenhead, Chelsea and surrounding districts was held in the Gladstone Hall Northcote, last evening, Air Alexander Bruce, J.P., presiding. It Avas unanimously decided to support Mr .Malcolm Niccol, the Liberal candidate, for Eden. A large number of electors were nominated and added to the committee. It Avas decided to ask Air Niccol to address the electors at an early date under the patronage of the committee.

WELLINGTON. Thursday
At a meeting of the Trades Council to-night it Avas decided, in view of the indifference shown by some of the affiliated Unions and the opposition of others, not to take any action in regard to the selection of candidates for the general election.
CHRISTCHURCH, Thursday. Mr Rolleston announces his intention of again contesting Riccarton.
