Tl'IE RUGGED RIDGES RUN. j Durh'ig a discussion in the Council last week, in which the question of land settlement came up, Mr Jones made a &■ special reference to the Rugged Ridgt s Run (otherwise known as Julius. '11 'is property was subdivided some twenl y years ago into three pastoral leasee. Mr Jones, in recounting the facts, siud that prior to subdivision the ann ual rental was £5-18, but it had since sjone up to £2920. , Mr Shrimskv brought up the subject yesterday afternoon by moving, "That a return be. laid on the table showing (1) the total area of Rugged Ridges Run;, (2) the rent paid prior to sub-; division; (-0 the number of subdivisions, and (4) the total annual rental now payable." He stated that Mr, Jones' statement was not in accordance with facts. The actual rental] before subdivision was £030, and, ac-i cording to information supplied by | the Surveyor-General the revenue was| now £13 leas. After a debate of a! somewhat lively and personal char-| acter the moti.on was carried by 19 to 16, and the Co uncil rose. j
