Wind: Strong from between west and couth-west and south at all places aorta ward of Napier aud Ncaa- Plymouth, strong from the same direction during the next 10 hours nt all places from thence southward to Kaikoura and Lyttelton, but cUanginii to a gale from between north-east and north aud west after that time; gale from between north-east and north and A\e&c elsewhere after 10 hours. ' Barometer: Further rise northward of Napier and New Plymouth, fall at all other places. _, , „ Sea: Heavy on all Western Coast and on East Coast southward of Napier. Tides- High on nil AA'esteru Coast, good ou East Const south of Napier, moderate elsewhere. Synopsis of the last 24 hours: Slowly increasing pressure everywhere, Avith moderate to strong westerly Avluds, and generally with flue weather, but there has been raiu in Otago. . _ Bcegsure is low westward of loveaux Straits, but is decreasing in intensity.
