WELLINGTON TRAMWAYS.
At the Wellington City Council meeting last night a letter Avas read from the proprietors of the tramAvays withdrawing the offer of sale of the tramAvays to the corporation on terms mentioned last year. Councillor Devina moved, "That as the tramway proprietors have refused, or neglected, to enter into an agreement with, or accept the terms of the Council, as determined on by the Council in January, 1898, legal proceedings be forthwith taken to determine the Council's position." This was lost.
