New South Wajes| has always been our best customer,'! taking from us £8,953,834 worth off exports, whereas our purchases frouvi New South Wales totalled but £6,726,!] 255, a. balance of over two millions orir ( the New Zealand side. With Souflr| Australia our trade has always been.?; much less, amounting to £358,46S in" the twelve years,, but, again, our im-": ports are £112,686 less. The case is dif-'i ferent with Queensland and Tasmania;! Our exports to the former have stead-:] ily decreased, and our imports have« increased till out of £856,765 repre-^ senting our imports, we are £211,143| to the bad, our exports being deficient^ to that amount. With Tasmania our,; trade has been steadily maintained;; with little fluctuation, our exports^ thither totalling £42,678, but our pur-*j chases exceeding that sum by £58.683.| Altogether our exports to the sixA colonies in the twelve years sum life to £17,139,819, and our'imports front; them £2,907,139 short of that aggre-^ .^te. •■ 'm
