Wind: Strong from south, but olinnging by west to north-west at all places iv.it I■waru of Napier, Taupo, and llaglan; gaie from between north-east and north onfl west from thence southward to Oamai 1 and Queeustown, and gale from between north and west and south-west elsewheio. Barometer: Further rise at all places north of Napier and New Plymouth; tall soon everywhere else. Sea: Heavy ou nil AVesteru Coast and on East Coast southwards of Napier; moderate * Tidesfmgh on all Western Coast and oil the East Coast southward of Castlepolnt*, poor from thence to East Cape; moderate at ail other places. Kain is probable in moat parts ot the country south of Napier and New Plymouth after from 12 to 20 hours. Synopsis of the last 24 hours: Slowly increasing pressure everywhere, with moderate to strong westerly winds and generally flue weather. Kain is reported from Ittmsell, frost from Taupo and Cambridge. L.ow pressure from the west will pass eastward of the meridian of South Cape to-morrow.
