In pursuance of "The Industrial Conciliation and Arbitration Act, 1594," I, Rees Goring Thomas, Returning Officer appointed for the Northern Industrial District, do hereby give notice that an election will be held for the. return of four' members to serve as a Board of Conciliation for the sail Industrial District, at the Supreme Court Buildings at Auckland, on the 21st day of September, 18S9. It is hereby further notified that the votes of Industrial Unions of Workers will be received from 11 a.m. till 1 p.m., , and the votes of Industrial Unions of Employers from 2 p.m. till 4 p.m. The vote of each such Union shall be signified in writing in the prescribed manner, and shall be tendered by the Chairman of the Union, or by some person appointed by the Union for that purpose, in accordance with its rules. Candidates must be nominated for Election-in such manner as the rules of the Industrial Union may prescribe, or, if there be no. such rule, nominations must be made in writing by the Chairman of the Union and lodged with the Returning Officer at least three > days before the date of Election: Provided that if- no greater number of persons are nominated than require to be elected, the Returning Officer will at once declare such persons elected.
