BARRIER REEFS.
TENDER FOR BATTERY ACCEPTED
\ meeting of Directors in the Barrier Reefs G.M. Company was held at noon to-day in Mr H. Gi Milan's office for the purpose of considering tenders received for a battery. After due consideration it was decided to accept the tender of Messrs Chambers and Son for supplying a 20-stamper battery with concentrating and cyaniding plant complete. The same firm's tenby the Directors to secure a thoroughly complete electric light installation for the mine. Great care has been taken by the Dirctors to secure a thoroughly up-to-date plant with all the latest improvements. Under the contract, the battery and plant have to be delivered before the 31st of December, so that the Company may get to work treating the Barrier ore at as early a date as possible. This decision to erect a battery at the Great Barrier is one of the utmost importance for the whole of that district, it being the first one ordered for that section of our goldfields.
