ELECTION NOTES.

The Hon. J. Carroll addressed a meeting at Patea on Saturday. He compared the policy of the Government with that of the Opposition, defending the former, and quoted statistics showing the advanced prosperity of the electorate and of the whole country lie eombatted the idea of stuffing the electorate with co-operative workers, stating that there were only eleven in the electorate at the last election . He thought back settelrs would rather have co-opera-tive workers than no roads. Mr Carroll was well received and was accorded a vote of thanks. Mr Frank Lawry also spoke.
