BURGESS LIST.

The adjourned statutory meeting of the City Council convened for the purpose of revising the Burgess list was held af? the Council Chambers last evening. His Worship the Mayor, Mr D. Goldie, presided, and there were also present:—Crs. J. Paterson, C. Hewson* F. White, E. Courtenay, J. Stichbury, A. Kidd, J. T. Julian, A. J. Entrican^ Pi. Farrell, Y. Warren, J. Jamieson, C. Gray, and E. Salmon. The meeting, which was adjourned from Thursday, was called for the put-pose of. finally revising the burgess list. '■".

About 2000 new applications for enrolment were received and added t<i the list. V

The rolls were revised and a number of names were removed for various reasons. The list was then signed byi the Mayor and Crs. Hewson and1 Stichbury, and no further alterations § or additions can be made to it nntil the forthcoming elections.
