VOLUNTEER NOTES.
The Auckland Engineers' Corps will attend church parade to-morrow, attended by the Ponsonby Navals and band. On Monday evening the monthly inspection of the Engineers takes place at the Drill-shed. ;-.-■ An inspection of the No. 2 Corps New Zealand Native Rifles is called for Monday evening next at ,7.30 pm. This is the last occasion on which Captain Oakes will have of being on parade with the above corps. "'_-.'•''' The Onehunga Rifle Volunteer Company held a plain and fancy-dress ball last night in the Public Hall, One hundred couples took part in the grand march/which was led by 6ap. tain Mcintosh and Mrs W. G. Scott. During the evening a squad of volunteers performed bayonet exercise and physical drill, and • were loudly applauded by the large number of spectators present. At midnight the narty sat down to a capital supr per, provided by Mr P. Farrell. Excellent music was supplied by Marriage's string band. Lieut.. Robb acted a's M.C. To the latter and the committee much credit is due for the success attained. •-. ■ •- ■'-.-■"
