FLOGGED FOR REFUSING WORK.
PRETORIA, August 25,
The Germans who are offering for service with the Boers ask to be formed into a separate corps owing to the hardship which commandeered men had to endure in Magatoland against the chief Mpefu. Natives working in the Rand mines are becoming restless. At East Johannesburg several of them were fined and flogged for refusing- to work. _
