CRUCIFIXES AND TABERNACLE
AN IMPORTANT DECISION.
LONDON, August 13.
T)r Tristram, Chancellor of the Consistory Court, delivered reserved iudgment to-day in a case challenging the legality of the erection of crucifixes over the reredos and tabernacle of a church of St. Helburga, Bishopsffate, London. He decided that both tie crucifixes and the tabernacle were illegal. The case, which was regarded as a test case, lasted six days.
