LONDON, July 12
Rain fell during the night and the wicket was soft when play was resumed this morning. The attendance to-day was small. The Midlands team have' lost 3 wickets for 140 runs. Quaife and Jones, the not-outs of the previous day. are still at the wickets, the former having 35 and the latter 63 to his credit. The home team require another 102 runs to win, with 7 wickets to fall.
