DAIRY PRODUCE SHIPMENTS

/By Telegraph. —Press Association.)

WELLINGTON, this day.

The National Dairy Association has made a contract with the two leading shipping companies on favourable terms for the carriage of butter and cheese to London. Under the proposed arrangement regularity of shipment will be secured, a point on which there has been constant complaints. Freights compare favourably with those from Melbourne, being equal to 3/7 per box of bxitter and 6/11 per crate of 1631b cheese. In addition the companies pay coastal freight to Wellington and transhipping charges, which brings the rates below the Melbourne terms.
