DRUIDS LODGE, WAIKINO.

PAEROA, this day.
On Thursday evening laat a lodpe of Druids, under the name of the Vioi toria Lodge, No. 22, was most successfully opened at Waikino by Br. Mc-iHug-h, District President, assisted by ! the officers of the Paeroa and Walhi Lodges. The event was evidently regarded as a most important one, and complete arrangements had been made : for the ceremonies of initiating the brethren of the newly-formed lodge" and for the installation of their officers. The lodge officers are as follows: —Arch Druid, Bro. Fenton; ViceArch Druid, Bro. R. Montgomery; secretary, Bro. Gillespie;. treaaurei", Brp.. Bright; Inside Guardian, Bro. Bell; Outside Guardian, Bro. Hughes; Arch Bards, Bros. Stack and Phelan; ViceArch Bards, Bros. Clarke and Harper; j minute secretary, Bro. Hawkesby; auditors, Bros. Maiden and Rowlands^ : lodge surgeon, Dr. Wright. The offl- ■ ocrs, after being elected, were duly installed into their chairs by the | Distriot President, who performed the ceremony in a roost impressive man[ner. The lodge was then closed and ! the whole party, to the number of ! seventy, adjourned to a first - class ! supper provided by Bro. Montgomery jat the Waikino Hotel. After ample justice was done to the good things \ provided songs and toasts enlivened i the proceedings for an hour or two. i success to the new lodge being drunk by the visiting Druids, among whom the opinion was generally expressed I that the Waikino branch would soon become a strong and valuable addition to the Druids society.
