Mr Mills' Sales by Mortgages Bill 5s designed to protect the interests of mortgagors and creditors in the event of a sale by the mortgagee through the Registrar of the Supreme Court. It provides that in the application for sale the mortgagee shall state the estimated value of the security which the mortgagor may require fbf a release, and on payment of that value the mortgagee may not. bid through an undisclosed agent, nor make a bid less than the amount of his valuation; X he purchases, the purchase - money must be of such amount. Another shofrt Bill, fathered by the member for Waihu, proposes to abolish the necessity for six months' notice of intention to pay off a mortgage being given by the mortgagor. •■.*-':' ACCIDENT INSURANCE. ; The measure authorising the Government Life Insurance Department to conduct accident- insurance fa&s , been reintroduced.
