THE OPERA HOUSE.

"LIFE FOE LIFE" TO - NIGHT.

The Lyceum Dramatic Company gave their final performance of "His Natural Life" at the Opera House on Saturday evening to a large house. Mr Dalgleish, as the hero Rufus Dawes, gained liberal applause for his clever acting.

To-night the company istage the great Drury Lane drama, "Life for Life," written by Messrs Pettit and Sims. "Life for Life" is said to be the company's strongest piece. The plot deals with the troubles of one Walter Granville, an artist, who is hated by Philip Rutledge because he (Philip) loves Granville's wife. To g;ain his object, Phillip resorts to all sorts of villainy by stealing Granville's child and acctising him of murder. Magee, a socialist, assists Granville out of gaol. The great scene is the "blowing up" of Holloway gaol by Anarchists. Southern papers speak of this scene as particularly realistic. Another g-ood scene is that of Phillip Eutledge's training stables,. where Granville escapes from his enemy on horseback. The part of Phillip Rutledge will be taken by Mr W. Dalgleish, and he should give a good account of the part.
