WELLINGTON, Wednesday.,

At a meeting of the Victoria College Council Professor Easterfield urged the appointment of a geological or biological lecturer to enable students to properly prepare for the B.Sc. degree. He stated that the Council must be prepared to face the expenditure of £1000 to properly equip the laboratory if tfhey wanted anything more than second-rate work, and if students were to be enabled to take full advantage of the University course. The Council decided to apply to.Government for the money required.
