The Committee appointed to consider the draft Bill drawn up by the chairman to consolidate and amend the laws affecting the Auckland College and Grammar School recommended that it be introduced as a local Bill, after revision by the Board's solicitors. The chairman said the Bill consolidated the ci ,-ht or nine Acts referring to the school. The most important alteration was the insertion of a clause empowering the Board to raise £0,000 for the erection of houses on the Board's properties. The Mayor thought that clause 22, giving the Board power to reduce rents, should be struck out. as they would be constantly receiving applications for reduction. On his motion the clause was deleted. The chairman was requested to take charge of the Bill in the House.

Finance.—Accounts amounting to £445 15/6 were passed for payment. The bank balance, after payment of these accounts, was set down at £760 1/4.
