ACCIDENT AT TAURANGA.

TAURANGA, this day.

A serious accident happened to Captain Tovey Tennent on Monday when lopping a tree on his property. How the accident happened is not exactly known, as no one else was abouii, and the sufferer is not yet able to give any account of the occurrence. He was probably standing- on a laddei', lopping a heavy branch, which fell on him, smashing the ladder and bring* ing- him to the ground. Three ribs and the collar bone are broken or seriously damaged, and there are other severe injuries. Captain Tovey Tennent is'one of the oldest settlers, and also Coroner for the district.
