The members of the Samoan High Commission will confer at Washington.

America has despatched the cruiser Newark to Samoa.

Mataafa had been unanimously elected king, and it required a unanimous vote to depose him.

The Reichstag unanimously approved of Yon Bulow's declarations with reference to Samoa.

SYDNEY, April 16,

In the course of an interview, Major-. General French said he considered 1000 men were necessary. to quell the Samoan rebellion.
