PARNELL SCHOOL COMMITTEE.

The usual monthly meeting of the Parhell School Committee was held in the schoolroom •on Friday last, when there were present:—Messrs N. W. Pollard (chairman), Thomas, Tighe, Jickeil, Johnston, Moore, Scott, Petfprd, Martin and T.W.Killip (secretary).

The matter of the late inquiry was very freely discussed, when the following re r solutions were Carried unanimously:—(l) That the committee desires to express its warmest sympathy with Mr J. L. Scott (headmaster) in the late inquiry conducted by the Board of Eduoation on April sth, in connection with the Chief Inspector's inspection report, contained in Topic V, of October 14th, 1898; (2) That the Comtoittee desires to place on record its Unabated confidence in the headmaster (Mr J. Li Scott) as ateacher and disciplinarian, and trusts that he may continue for many years the respected headmaster .of th& Parnell District school. (3) In connection with the late inquiry of April sth, the Parnell School Committee desires to convey to the Board of Education its dis- < approval: Pistly, of the manner in which the Chief Inspector (Mr D.
