DRAUGHTS TOURNAMENT.

DUNEDIN, April 10. The draughts tournament was brought to a close on Saturday night, each player having played 40 games. The scores are: —D. A. Brodie, Dunedin, championship and £20, 29 points; James Gardiner, Gore, £12, 27i points; J. Becpt, Mandeville, £8, 261 points; J. Mulvey, Gore, £C, 255 points; J. A. Scott, Gore, and C. Sounness, Edendale, divided fifth and sixth prizes of £7 with 25 points; J. Lemmatt, Wellington, and H. Morris, Invercargill, divide the seventh and eighth prizes with 24J points; J. A. Lucas, Dunedin, £1, 24 points; J. A. Boreham, Oamaru, 10/, 23J points. The first prize-takers are quite young. Gardiner, who- is the. second best player, in. tbe-colony, is only 17 years old.
