FRIENDLY SOCIETIES.

TIMARU, March 24.

At a meeting of the Grand Lodge of the American Oddfellows yesterday several notices of motion were given for next session. The following subordinate G.L. officers were appointed: Chaplain, J. Teague (Christchiirfch); marshal, J. S. Rutter (Wellington); guardian, Armiger (Auckland); conductor, Spoinger (Dunedin); herald, Cusworth (Invereargill). TM lodgo then adjourned sine die, and were then driven to Geraldine, and in .the evening entertained by the local lodge at Temuka. .

CHRISTCHURCH, April 6.

At the Independent Order Good Templars Grand Lodge session, the Secretary's report showed 3822 members of. good standing. There are now 115 lodges in working prder.
