GREAT MERCURY,
Mr R. C. Can-offered the'whole of the property of the Great Mercury Company for sale by auction Tfie property included the mine, battery, cyanide battery, stores and' .' outbuildings. Mr .T. J. Craig started the bidding at £250, and it was knocked down to the same bidder at £495. It is -intended to float the Great Mercury inane at Kiiaotunu locally and develop it systematically. The last return from the cleaning: up for the old company watf £299 4/5 from 150 tons of quartz and 240 tons of tailings. KAPAI-^RMONT MINE. The assets of. the Kapai-Vermont G.M. Co. (No Liability) were auctioned by Messrs VS. Cochrane <md Son. The assets put iip for sale included thoY mining leases, mining tenements, Amachinery, etc. Bidding was started\lit £1000 by Mr J. J. Craig. The bidding was keen up to £6100, at which pri6e, the mine was knocked down to Mr G. w." Kissling, for the New Zealand Mines if rust.
