THE SAMOAN CONTINGENT.
Whether the volunteers who have been nicked to go to Samoa are dispatched thither or not, the public will be pleased' to possess a souvenir of the young fellows who offered their services to the Government with such alacrity. Such a souvenir is now procurable, the 'Graphic' having published to-day as a special supplement to the usual issue of the journal a double page picture of t:?e Auckland volunteer contingent chosen for service in Samoa, with separate pictures of the sergeants and the: officers. These handsome engravings are printed on special plate, paper, and are not bdund in with the journal. The intention is that they should be framed and kept as mementoes of the occasion. As there have been many requests in volunteering circles for such a picture, arrangements have been made for the issue of a much larger number of 'Graphics' than usual, but as the demand is sure to be great for copies, we would advise our friends to make their p\ircli£ises early. Every volunteer will doubtless possess himself of a copy of a picture that bids fair to have an historical interest attached to it.
