FIRE AT EDEN TERRACE.
A carpenter's shop owned by Mr S. Hanham, Upper Eden Terrace, was destroyed by fire yesterday afternoon, together with a number of valuable carpenter's and joiner's tools and requisites, and a quantity of mottled kauri. Mr Hanham's total loss is estimated at about £300. The shop and contents were insured in the Standard Insurance Co. for £150. The fire apparently originated in some boards lying on the floor of the shop.
The Eden Terrace Fire Brigade under Branchman H. Moor worked at the fire, and prevented the blaze from spreading to the surrounding buildings. Constable Hinton, of the Eden Terrace Police Station, was early on the scene and rendered
assistance.
