WESLEYAN QUARTERLY MEETINGS.

PITT-STREET.

I The Circuit quarterly meeting was I held in the Church parlour last evenjing. There jvvas an attendance of over 30 present, ) and the superintendent, Rev. W. J. Williams, presided. The membership returns reported 518 full members, with 31 on trial, 121 Sunday School teachers, arid 1253 scholars. The balance - sheet showed income £235 10/8, expenditure £263 15/, leaving a deficit of £28 4/4 on the quarter and making the total indebtedness £126 16/5. , Collections were duly authorised and the improvements to Kingsland School and property sanctioned. Matters affecting Mount Eden district I were referred to a committee. Circuit I boundaries were considered. A committee was appointed in connection with Century Commemoration Fund. i The disposal of Pitt and "Vincent street ! property was fully discussed. Mr Thomas McMaster was elected Circuit Steward, vice Mr T.homas Hodgson, who retired by effluxion of time. A hearty vote of thanks was tendered to. this gentleman for his able services. Votes of appreciation were accorded !to the Circuit ministers and special j reference.made to the Rev. A. Peters, j who is removing to Rangiora. The i Conference representatives, Messrs i Thomas Allen and G. Winstone, were ! thanked. Sympathy was expressed with Bros. Hosking and Allison in their recent bereavements. Matters in connection with the 'Advocate' were dealt with and the meeting closed with ! the Benediction. MANUKATJ. •'. ■

The quarterly meeting of the Manukau circuit was held in the Wesleyan Church at Woodside yesterday. The Rev. S. Lawry presided. Representatives were present from Onehunga, Otahuhu, Woodside, Flat Bush, and Mangere; The chairman reported 198 members in full connection, with 16 juniors. Mr W. Westriey. read the financial statement, which showed the income -to be £96 13/4, and the expenditure to be £103 15/7. The sum of £10 4/9 w_s collected during the quarter for foreign missions. Messrs Fleming, Harris, Norris, Robins, Davies, and taking were appointed a Home and Foreign Mission Committee for the ensuing year. Mr H. J. Davies gave an interesting report of the recent Conference,, of which he was a mfimberi and, on the motion of Mr Westuey, was thanked for his services. A discussion took place as to the best method of assisting the 20th Century Commemoration Fund, and it was resolved: (1) 'That the Rev. D. O'Donnell be invited to conduct a mission in the circuit;' (2) 'That the quarterly meeting be a committee to assist the Rev. C. H. Garland, with the following members as ah executive: Rev. S. Lawry, Messrs C: C. and G. Fleming,, Davies, Douglas, Westney, Robins, Stringer and Laki'rig. The members were afterwkards entertained at afternoon tea by Mr and Mrs Godwin Smith, to whom a hearty vote of thanks was accorded for their hospitality. ' , ■
