ANTARCTIC EXPLORATION

1 '.Mr Longstaff, Fellow of the Geographical Society, has contributed £25,000 towards the Antarctic explori ation fund. :; The 'Times,' commenting on the subject, says £40,000 is now available, and it is probable others will emulate the example of Mr Longstaff in equipping a national expedition worthy ,of the country. It was to be hoped the Government would help in some shape. •;-The 'Daily News' says the tremendous possibilities of exploration in the -, "South Pole form its great charm.
