WELLINGTON, this day

The Wellington shareholders in tM New Zealand and River Plate Land Mortgage Company met to consider the recommendation of the Auckland shareholders in favour of an increase of the dividend from six per cent. Mr J. B. Harcourt (chairman) moved that the resolution of the Auckland shareholders be approved, and that the chairman of the Auckland meeting be notified of the fact. This wqs seconded by the Rev. C. S. Ogg. Mr G. M. Kebbell moved as an amendment 'That this meeting has entire confidence in the London directors, and deprecates the action of the Auckland shareholders.' Mr W. Watson seconded this, and it was lost, the voting being: For the amendment, four shareholders representing 2950 shares; for the motion, six shareholders representing 3485 shares. The motion, was therefore carried.
