The Queen of the Belgians, who has been dangerously ill, is rallying. In the House of Commons, Mr Chamberlain said it was untrue that it -was contemplated to convert Xew Guinea into a Crown colony at an earty date. Butler, arrested in Auckland on the Mariposa about two -months ago, has been sentenced at Sydney to four years for embezzlement. British Board of Trade returns for February show that the imports decreased'by £1,841,000, and that the exports increased by £1,740,557. The woman Dubberke has informd the police that she does not wish to share in the reward offered in the Yarra murder case. The doctors have certified that Mrs McNeill is not in a condition to give evidence at the Gatton inquiry at present. Kipling- is slowly improving.
